Burnout is a killer of entrepreneurial dreams and vision. Avoid it and adopt a clutter-free work schedule lifestyle. At the Holistic Literacy Empowerment hub, we believe in work-life balance to avoid stress and burnout in your entrepreneurial pursuits. The principle is to maintain a clutter-free mindset with tidy desks and calendars. That calls for being conscious of your priorities and organizing your schedules accordingly.

Whether you go out for work or are a lifestyle entrepreneur or intrapreneur at your workplace, a clutter-free work schedule will make you more productive and enjoy what you are doing. The secret is to always be yourself and the best of yourself in any projects you are assigned. And those you assign yourself.  Here are the aspects that need to be managed for a clutter-free work-life balance lifestyle.

Work

Do not just schedule to work. Cultivate a productive mindset, not a busyness mindset that can be very stressful and may result in burnout and a cluttered mindset. Do not cram your work schedule. Be human and leave some space for breathing and thinking about what you are doing. Less is more, and can help to remain focused and captivated. Avoid burnout with a clutter-free work schedule that is productive and fulfilling in your goals.

Remember, work needs to be fulfilling, not just doing work to meet deadlines and earn a living. That is the traditional mindset that your forefathers survived and died with regrets of not living a more fulfilling lifestyle. Most of the elderly now regret the hectic and hustle-based lifestyle they practiced. And never sat down to appreciate the work they were doing and why they were doing it. Most of them did it for family and never thought of it as a way to provide for themselves, nor as an expression of their capabilities and contribution to the world.

That is why they were bitter and lacked the joy of being themselves and the best of themselves in celebration of their capabilities. I am always inspired by my father’s mindset. If he could drive himself in a Morris Minor Traveler in the 1960s, then he was a guy who knew how to work in celebration of his lifestyle without getting bitter and angry with the world.

Breaks

Short breaks will keep you going, and at the end of the day, you must always feel fulfilled about what you have done on any particular day. No matter how little, as long as it is relevant and in the right direction of what you want to accomplish in your entrepreneurial pursuits and projects. That should leave you satisfied and grateful for what you have done on that particular day.  Breaks are like establishing a system in avoiding a cluttered mind. The popular concept these days is the time boxing and block system, as explored by most creators.

Life is not a race. Learn to execute your work with a balanced mindset to make it healthy and satisfying. You know how crammed with projects it can be. Allowing yourself breaks will allow time to reflect on the effect each and every project activity has on you. It also helps to prioritize your activities and progress. Here is how some people apply blocking systems to achieve their goals. And finish their projects without stress, burnout, and getting overwhelmed.

Lunch

Most entrepreneurs, especially solopreneur, startup entrepreneurs, overlook lunch breaks. You shouldn’t! That is killing yourself, and soon your body will start shutting down, and you won’t enjoy your entrepreneurial journey.  Having lunch break at your desk is a sign of stress and dismissal of the beautiful parks around your home or workplace. Choose to get lost and explore refreshing areas where you can relax and forget about piles of files on your desk or online.

It is therapeutic to have a breath of fresh air from the air-conditioned office environment. Whether it is at home in your bedroom or at your workplace, you need ample time to clear clutter and boost your creative juices and collected thoughts during lunch break. Remember, work was never meant to be a sacrifice of your health and well-being. It was meant to fulfil those aspects of life that make you feel fulfilled and happy with what you are pursuing in entrepreneurial projects.

A lunch break means time to go and refresh with other people as well, far from your desk. It is time you can use for small talk with anyone around you, just for general perspectives and insights about life. Remember how the world has become a silent world due to social media addictions and meaningless scrolls on smartphone interfaces and dashboards.

A lunch break well used will avoid a cluttered mind. And boosts an invigorated and focused approach to work for a work-life balance lifestyle. Share that time with like-minded colleagues for light, refreshing conversations. Remember, no gossip, as it is shallow and toxic in both life and business.
